B+B is a curatorial partnership between Sarah Carrington and Sophie Hope, founded in 2000. While Sarah and Sophie are currently working independently, aspects of B+B remain active and can be accessed via the News page of this website and by contacting Sophie on sophie[at symbol]welcomebb.org.uk
B+B provide a platform for discussion and debate on the role of the artist
in society. Through consultation, events, exhibitions, research, residencies
and workshops, B+B test and critique the role of the artist as an agent
for change. B+B believe that artists can disrupt and provoke the institutions
and structures around us. B+B argue that art has the potential to change
society whilst defending the notion it should be allowed to do what it does
best: ask questions without providing solutions and shift understandings
without claiming to empower.
The Projects page of this website provides a timeline of our activities.
