I have started to write a contextual analysis of policy and practice from 1960 to 2007. This is based on archival research and existing publications and does not rely on interviews. Mapping out some of the history of the rise and fall of cultural democracy has really helped to ground my understandings of this way of working . At the moment I am thinking of trying to develop this piece of writing into an article for publication rather than having it as part of my PhD . This way I can refer to the text but leave room for the theory and anlysis in the 50,000 wordcount.
